The Buffalo Jazz Composer’s Workshop presents a series of new compositions inspired by or written for their musical heroes in this exciting and broad themed evening. Hear selections inspired by the likes of Susan Alcorn, Chuck Mangione, Jack DeJohnette, and Gary Peacock. How much will each piece sound like the voice of these musical inspirations? Come hear some of Buffalo’s very best create music that speaks to their roots and hearts.

For one night only the Griff Kaz quartet reignites the music of one of the most formidable trumpet players of the 20th century! Freddie Hubbard had incredible strength, unbelievable chops, and a formidable attitude that has redefined the vocabulary of jazz trumpet playing to this day. Treat yourself to a night of invigoration as the quartet explores hits and secret gems from Hubbard’s albums as a bandleader as well as his work with Herbie Hancock, V.S.O.P. and more!
